Summary:PURPOSE: A fluorescent material is provided to improve luminous intensity by remarkably suppressing scattering on the interface of a resin layer and a fluorescent material. CONSTITUTION: A fluorescent material emits a light which has a light-emitting peak within 490-580 nm when the light is excited in a light of 250-500 nm, comprises a particle of crystal in Sr3Si13Al3O2N21 which is activated by Eu, and has an outer region from the particle surface to 5 nm and an inner region deeper than the outer region. The average oxygen concentration ratio of the outer region to the inner region(O_outer/O_inner) is 1.0-3.8.
