Abstract PURPOSE: A display device and a light barrier element are provided to suppress unevenness in luminance due to a moire phenomenon by randomly arranging a plurality of spacers in the surface of a substrate. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of spacers(36) is randomly arranged in part or all of a region in the surface of a transparent substrate. Random arrangement of the spacers is determined by using random number calculation. The random arrangement suppresses unevenness in luminance of a display image due to a moire phenomenon caused by interference between an arrangement configuration of pixels(Pix) in a display section and an arrangement configuration of the spacers in a liquid crystal barrier.
