Abstract A thermoplastic composition comprising from 30 to 89.5 wt.% of an aromatic polycarbonate, from 0.5 to 20 wt.% of an impact modifier, from 0 to 25 wt.% of an aromatic vinyl copolymer, from 6 to 35 wt.% of a mineral filler, and from 4 to 20 wt.% of a titanium dioxide, wherein the titanium dioxide is coated with silicone or siloxane, based on the total weight of the composition, has been found to exhibit improved mechanical properties and other characteristics and less degradation than filled thermoplastic compositions without the particular coated titanium dioxide. The composition optionally comprises an acid or acid salt. An article may be formed by molding, extruding, shaping or forming such a composition to form the article.
