Abstract | A flat cable is provided to drastically reduce the generation of Whisker due to a Pb-free by reducing an amount of Pb which is a practical generation source of the Whisker. A flat cable(1) includes a plurality of rectangular copper conductors(2) and an insulating resin(3). The plurality of rectangular copper conductors include a copper base and arranged in a shape of plane. The insulating resin coats the plurality of copper conductors. The plurality of rectangular copper conductors have Sn-Cu alloy layer on the copper base. A Sn plating layer containing Zn is formed on the Sn-Cu alloy layer. A thickness of the Sn-Cu alloy layer is ranged from 0.2 um to 1.0 um. A thickness of the Sn plating layer containing Zn is ranged from 0.2 um to 1.5 um. The total thickness of the Sn-Cu alloy layer and the Zn coating layer are ranged from 0.4 um to 1.7 um. |
