Abstract A method and an apparatus for cancelling interference in an RF repeater for mobile communication are provided to improve interference cancellation response speed by cancelling every interference in an appointed interval in real time, without a process to detect an interference location. An apparatus for cancelling interference in an RF repeater for mobile communication comprises an ICS(Interference Cancellation System) algorithm(32), an adaptive filter(33), and a subtracter(31). The ICS algorithm detects an Rx signal(R), a mixture of a source signal(S) and an interference signal, and an output signal in real time and calculates a weight factor through the correlation between the Rx signal and the output signal in real time. The adaptive filter applies the calculated weight factor and creates an interference cancellation signal(^I) in real time. The subtracter subtracts the interference cancellation signal from the Rx signal in real time and creates an interference-cancelled signal(Err).
