Abstract A vehicle safety control system and a method using a navigator in cornering are provided to optimize cornering of the vehicle by automatically controlling the angle of a steering wheel and traveling speed of the vehicle. A vehicle safety control system using a navigator in cornering is composed of a navigation unit(10) detecting the rotational angle of the present road, vehicle speed, and the angle of a steering wheel by using map data, a speed sensor, and a gyro sensor and outputting a corresponding data signal; a control unit(20) judging whether the rotational angle of the present road is dangerous or the angle of the steering wheel is abnormal or not by comparing and analyzing information about the rotational angle of the present road, vehicle speed, and the angle of the steering wheel inputted from the navigation unit and outputting a control signal; a steering control unit(30) automatically controlling power steering according to the vehicle speed on the basis of the control signal of the control unit, if the angle of the steering wheel is abnormal; a speed control unit(40) automatically reducing the vehicle speed in order according to the control signal of the control unit, to operate easily the steering wheel if the angle of the steering wheel is abnormal; and a voice warning unit(50) outputting the curve entry warning sound and the steering wheel angle warning sound according to the control signal of the control unit.
