Abstract | Provided are a pouch type battery, and a method for forming the pouch type battery to increase the capacity per volume by reducing the width of a pouch and to reduce the injection time of an electrolyte solution. The pouch type battery comprises an electrode assembly in which a first electrode having an electrode tap(37), a second electrode having an electrode tap(38), and a separator interposed between the first electrode and the second electrode is laminated; a back part which comprises a side wall of the groove where the electrode assembly is placed, the bottom surface of the groove, and a flange part extended from the pair of first side surface facing each other; and a front part which comprises a second side wall and two extended parts so as to cover the electrode assembly located at the groove at the side surface of the flange part connected with the second side wall, wherein the end parts of the two extended parts are fused to form a front sealing part, and the part of the front part folded with the flange part is fused with the corresponding part of the flange part at some part to form an upper sealing part(52) and a lower sealing part(57'). |
