PURPOSE: Provided are thermotropic liquid crystal polymer microcapsules, a method for preparing the same and cosmetic composition containing the same microcapsules capable of allowing the liquid crystal to maintain its phase behavior in a polymer. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of (a) dissolving thermotropic liquid crystal and monomers in a solvent and adding initiators to the solvent using supersonic waves, (b) feeding the solution of the step (a) to an aqueous solution containing dispersion stabilizing agent, (c) emulsifying the solution of the step (b), thereby obtaining emulsion, and (d) adding retarder to the emulsion and causing suspension polymerization, thereby obtaining thermotropic liquid crystal polymer capsules. 본 발명은 열방성 액정 고분자 마이크로캡슐 및 이의 제조방법, 및 이 액정 고분자 마이크로캡슐을 함유하는 화장료 조성물에 관한 것으로, 더욱 구체적으로는 고분자와 액정의 상 분리로 인하여 고분자 상내에서 열방성 액정의 상거동을 그대로 나타낼 수 있고, 나아가 액정의 시각적 효과를 직접 육안으로 확인할 수 있어 화장품 조성에서 가시적 효과를 보이는 첨가제로 사용될 수 있으며, 액정내에 다른 기능성 활성물질을 함유시켜 활성물질의 안정화를 도모할 수 있는 액정고분자 마이크로캡슐 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것이다.
