Abstract PURPOSE: A paste composition and a method for forming barrier ribs using the same are provided to achieve the demold with easy after the process of pressure forming, while ensuring uniformity of height of barrier ribs. CONSTITUTION: A method for forming barrier ribs of a plasma display panel, comprises a first step of preparing a light permeable mold(32) where barrier rib patterns are formed; a second step of forming a photo-polymerizable photosensitive paste(31) onto a rear surface substrate(30); a third step of aligning the light permeable mold onto the rear surface substrate; a fourth step of pressure forming the photo-polymerizable photosensitive paste by using the light permeable mold; a fifth step of inducing photo-polymerization reaction by radiating light to the photosensitive paste, penetrating through the light permeable mold; and a sixth step of demolding the mold. 본 발명은 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널(plasma display panel, PDP) 제조 기술에 관한 것이며, 특히 PDP의 격벽(barrier rib) 형성용 페이스트 조성물 및 그를 사용한 격벽 형성방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명은 광투과형 몰드를 사용하여 감광성 격벽 페이스트를 가압 성형을 실시하고, 특정 광원에 의한 노광을 실시하여 몰드와 형성된 격벽의 계면 접착력을 감소시킴으로써 탈형이 용이하도록 하고, 이로 인하여 균일한 고정세의 격벽을 수득할 수 있다. 또한 본 발명에서는 격벽 형성용 페이스트로 무기 격벽재료분말, 바인더 고분자, 다관능성 모노머 또는 올리고머, 자외선광개시제, 이형제, 용제를 기본 조성으로 하는 광중합형 감광성 격벽 페이스트를 사용하여 광 중합에 의한 상분리 현상을 이용한 PIPS(polymerization induced phase seperation) 방법으로 이형제 및 잔류 용제가 조성물 표면 위로 분리되도록 하고, 광 중합으로 인해 고분자가 수축하게 함으로써 광투과형 프레스와의 탈형이 용이하도록 한다. 한편, 상기 광중합형 감광성 격벽 페이스트에는 분산제, 광증감제, 소포제, 평활제, 산화방지제, 중합금지제 등의 첨가제를 더 첨가할 수 있다.
