PURPOSE: An apparatus for basaltic fiber production is provided to make heat resistant and soundproof mats by using pure basalt excluding carbonate stone. Also, the apparatus strengthens melting, saves energy and improves quality of fibers. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus to produce basaltic fibers contains the parts of: a hopper(10) filled with basalt pieces(3-10mm); an electrical furnace(14) to melt basalt pieces(100) at 1450-1550deg.C; one or more of carbon-based electrode(16a,16b,16c) set on a triangle shape and sloped by 50-85deg.C, where the electrode supplies 1.2KW electricity per 0.8-1kg basalt; a chamber(24) into which a basalt melt(200) flows; a blowing heads(26) ejecting 0.6MPa air pressure to produce fibers(300) of 1-5micrometer from the melt of basalt.
