PURPOSE: An apparatus for testing compression of a shift cable is provided to test compression strength of the shift cable by fixing both end parts of the cable with reappearing a curved part of the cable, thereby easily and accurately performing a compression test of the cable. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for testing compression of a shift cable(1) includes a frame(10) installed at a regular space, a front end fixing element(20) installed on one side of the frame for fixing a starting part of the shift cable and enabling straight movement of the cable, a back end fixing element(30) installed at the frame in a line with the front end fixing element for fixing a back end of the cable, a curved surface part reappearing element(40) installed on the other side of the frame for curved surface-transforming the cable connected between the front end fixing element and the back end fixing element, and a compression load providing element(50) installed at the front end fixing element for providing compression load to the cable.
