Summary: | PURPOSE: An astaxanthin pigment extraction method from green algae is provided to maximize extraction efficiency of astaxanthin pigment by irradiating microwave into culture, which is acquired from fermentation culture of Haematococcus, and establishing extraction condition with adequate organic solvent. CONSTITUTION: An astaxanthin pigment extraction method from green algae is characterized by comprising the following steps of: (i)culturing algae strain then suspending in water followed by treating microwave to decompose cell organelle and cell wall; (ii)drying by using dryer selected from spray dryer, vacuum drum dryer, plate dyer or extracting with solvent, which is selected from ethanol, methanol or a mixture thereof. The algae strain is characterized by one or more selected from Acetabularia mediterranea, Chlamydomonas nivalis, Euglena rubida, Haematococcus pluvialus, Haematococcus lacustris, and Haematococcus droeabicensis. 50-1000 watts and 916-2450 MHz of microwave is irradiated for 10-500 seconds by continuos microwave irradiation method through teflon tube or immobilized phase microwave irradiation method. |
