Abstract | The present invention provides an all-optical variable type 1/4 wavelength phase retarder-based optical fiber current sensor, which comprises: a light source for generating reference light for current or magnetic sensing; a polarizer for polarizing the reference light; a phase modulator for phase-modulating the polarized light into a predetermined reference signal; a phase retarder for delaying the phase-modulated light by 1/4 phase; a sensing optical fiber in which an optical path of the phase-delayed light is located in the vicinity of a sensing target; a Faraday rotation reflector for reflecting the light guiding the optical path at the end of the sensing optical fiber; a phase delay length adjuster for adjusting a physical length on an optical axis of the phase retarder; and a delay tuning module for controlling the operation of the phase delay length adjuster.
