The specification discloses a composition for preventing, alleviating or treating inflammatory eye disease containing a Lithospermum erythrorhizon extract as an active component. In an aspect, the Lithospermum erythrorhizon extract of the present invention contracts iris blood vessels, inhibits ciliary hemorrhage, and inhibits a retinal vascular leakage phenomenon, thereby having an effect of preventing, alleviating or treating inflammation in the eyes, which is, inflammatory eye disease.
