Disclosed is a valve stem seal which prevents leakage of lubricating oil through a gap between a valve stem and a valve guide and through a gap between an engine cylinder head and the valve guide. The disclosed valve stem seal comprises: an elastic member made of a rubber material and provided with a valve guide contact portion surrounding an upper end portion of the valve guide to be in close contact with an outer peripheral surface thereof, and a lip portion disposed on an upper side of the valve guide contact portion to be connected with the same and having a main lip protruding towards an outer peripheral surface of the valve stem; and a support member surrounding the valve guide contact portion to be in close contact with an outer peripheral surface thereof so as to support the valve guide contact portion, such that the valve guide contact portion comes into close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the upper end portion of the valve guide. The valve guide contact portion further comprises a lower lip formed with a closed curve at a lower end thereof and protruding downward, and the lower lip elastically comes into close contact with the cylinder head and is sealed to prevent oil leakage through a gap between a lower end of the valve guide contact portion and the cylinder head. 밸브 스템과 밸브 가이드 사이의 틈새를 통한 윤활 오일의 누유를 차단할 뿐만 아니라 엔진 실린더 헤드와 밸브 가이드 사이의 틈새를 통한 윤활 오일의 누유도 차단하는 밸브 스템 씰이 개시된다. 개시된 밸브 스템 씰은, 고무 소재로 이루어지며, 밸브 가이드의 상단부를 에워싸며 그 외주면에 밀착되는 밸브 가이드 밀착부, 및 밸브 가이드 밀착부와 연결되게 그 상측에 위치하고, 밸브 스템의 외주면 측으로 돌출된 메인 립(main lip)을 구비한 립부(lip portion)를 구비한 탄성 부재, 및 밸브 가이드 밀착부를 에워싸며 그 외주면에 밀착되어 밸브 가이드 밀착부를 밸브 가이드 상단부의 외주면에 밀착되도록 지지하는 지지 부재를 구비한다. 밸브 가이드 밀착부는 그 하단에 폐곡선을 형성하며 하향 돌출된 하단 립(lower lip)을 더 구비하고, 하단 립은 실린더 헤드에 탄성 밀착되어 밸브 가이드 밀착부의 하단과 실린더 헤드 사이가 누유(漏油)되지 않게 밀봉된다.
