Abstract The present invention relates to an improved handover method by a wireless communication network based target node and a base station performing the same. A handover method applied to a mobile network system including a user terminal and a base station node comprises the following steps: (a) a serving node determining, as a target node to receive handover, one node among candidate target nodes searched through location information and predicted moving direction information of the user terminal; (b) the serving node calculating a change rate per time (R(t)) with respect to the intensity of a reference signal of the determined target node, selecting a trigger phase dependent on a predetermined condition, and determining the handover according to the trigger phase; (c) the serving node transmitting a handover command message to the user terminal; and (d) the user terminal and the serving node performing the handover. Thus, the present invention provides an improved long term evolution (LTE) based handover method and a base station using the same, to perform handover to a proper base station in order to enable a user terminal moving at high speed to receive a signal smoothly. 본 발명은 무선통신망 기반 타겟노드에 의한 개선된 핸드오버 수행방법 및 그 방법을 사용하는 기지국에 관한 것으로, 사용자 단말과 기지국 노드를 포함하여 구성된 모바일 네트워크 시스템에 적용되는 핸드오버 수행방법에 있어서, (a) 서빙노드가 상기 사용자 단말의 위치정보 및 예측 이동방향 정보를 통해 탐색된 타겟 후보노드들 중 어느 하나의 노드를 핸드오버를 받을 타겟노드로 결정하는 단계; (b) 상기 서빙노드가 상기 결정된 타겟노드의 참고신호 세기에 대한 시간당 변화율(R(t))를 산출하고, 일정조건에 따라 트리거 상(Phase)을 선택하고 상기 트리거 상에 따른 핸드오버를 결정하는 단계; 및 (c) 상기 서빙노드가 핸드오버 명령 메시지를 사용자 단말(UE)로 송신하는 단계; 및 (d) 상기 사용자 단말과 서빙노드가 핸드오버를 실행하는 단계를 포함한다. 이와 같이 본 발명은, 고속으로 이동하는 사용자 단말이 원활한 신호 수신을 할 수 있도록 적절한 기지국으로 핸드오버가 이루어지도록 하는 개선된 LTE 기반의 핸드오버 수행방법 및 그 방법에 사용되는 기지국을 제공한다.
