Summary:The present invention relates to a method for determining a seismic center and an origin time of an earthquake using a travel time of P-waves for early earthquake warning and, more specifically, to a method for determining a seismic center and an origin time of an earthquake using a travel time of P-waves capable of accurately and rapidly determining where the earthquake starts (seismic center) and when the earthquake starts (origin time) by expressing a double difference obtained by subtracting a difference in predicted travel times from a difference in the travel times of the P-waves measured by different observation stations using a probability distribution function using the travel times of the P-waves detected by a little number of seismometers, and utilizing a maximum-likelihood classification by generating a likelihood function based on the probability distribution function. 본 발명은 지진조기경보를 위해, P파 도달시간을 이용한 진원 및 진원시 결정방법에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 소수의 지진계에서 검출된 P파의 도달시간을 이용하여, 서로 다른 관측소의 P파 도달시간 차이에 예측시간 차이를 뺀 이중차이를 확률분포함수로 표현하고, 상기 확률분포함수로부터 우도함수를 생성하여 최대우도법을 활용함으로써, 지진의 발생지점(진원)과 발생 시간(진원시)을 신속하고 정확하게 결정할 수 있는 진원 및 진원시 결정방법에 관한 것이다.
