Abstract Provided are an apparatus and a method for monitoring operation data in a magnesium smelting process. According to the present invention, the apparatus for monitoring operation data in a magnesium smelting process, including a plurality of reduction chambers comprises: a weight measuring unit for measuring the amount of output which is output from a plurality of reduction chambers or a raw material which is input to a plurality of reduction chambers; a carrier having an RFID tag to move the raw material or the output along a predetermined moving path; an RFID reader equipped in the moving path to receive an RFID signal transmitted from the RFID tag equipped in the carrier; and a monitoring server to monitor the moving path of the raw material or the output based on the RFID signal, and to monitor the amount of the raw material or the output moving along the moving path.
