Abstract | The present invention relates to a method for controlling tension of a coiler. By monitoring a missing width at an interval applied with the tension of a coiler when winding a rolled coil and compensating the tension, the width quality of the coil can be enhanced. The method for controlling the tension of a coiler includes: a step for calculating an average finishing mill (FM) width and an average down coiler (DC) width by receiving the FM width and DC width measured by an FM width scale and a DC width scale for measuring the width of the coil at the interval applied with tension; a step for calculating the amount of missing width at the interval applied with tension; and a step for compensating a predetermined tension value of a mandrel in accordance with the missing width. |
