Summary:The present invention relates to a method for downsizing a string instrument to be suitable for performance according to the body size of an instrumentalist, wherein the string instrument with multiple strings is such as Sanjo gayageum. According to the present invention, the downsizing method of the string instrument comprises: a step of measuring the certain body part sizes of the instrumentalists performing on the string instrument; a step of sorting the instrumentalists into a first age group applied with the standard of the string instrument and a second age group to be applied with the downsized standard of the string instrument on the basis of the measured body part sizes; a step of calculating the average body size of the first age group and the average body size of the second age group using the measured body part sizes; a step of calculating a first dynamic range in which the upper body of a first instrumentalist with the average body size of the first age group moves maximally when the first instrumentalist performs on the string instrument, and a second dynamic range in which the upper body of a second instrumentalist with the average body size of the second age group moves maximally when the second instrumentalist performs on the string instrument; a step of calculating a ratio between the first dynamic range and the second dynamic range; a step of calculating the downsized standard against the standard on the basis of the calculated ratio; and a step of manufacturing the downsized model of the string instrument, wherein the downsized model corresponds to the calculated downsized standard.
