The present invention relates to a roof top tent for a vehicle. The roof top tent for a vehicle has an expandable plate and a supporting pole, wherein the expandable plate is drawn out of a lower case mounted on the roof of the vehicle and the supporting pole is raised by a tent fabric simultaneously. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the roof top tent for the vehicle comprises: the lower case detachably fixed to the roof of the vehicle; and an upper case closing or opening the lower case by an opening and closing unit, and includes: the expandable plate connected to the lower case, and able to slide; the supporting pole of which both ends are connected to both rear ends of the expandable plate and are able to pivot respectively; and the tent fabric connected to at least the upper case, the supporting pole, and the expandable plate, wherein the expandable plate is able to slide between a first position on which the expandable plate is positioned to be overlapped with the lower case and a second position on which the expandable plate is maximally drawn out of the lower case, and the supporting pole is positioned to be adjacent to the expandable plate when the expandable plate is positioned on the first position and is raised up by the tent fabric when the expandable plate is positioned on the second position.
