Abstract PURPOSE: A mobile network based traffic data management method and system using a polling interval are provided to implement a delivery policy and to categorize mobile traffic based on user expectation, user activity, content priority, and application operation. CONSTITUTION: Local proxy(175) creates a polling interval which is controlled for a first service based on a polling interval of a second service. The controlled polling interval is determined based on the time importance of the first service for the time criticality of traffic in the second service. The local proxy is transmitted to a proxy server(125) according to the controlled polling interval. The local proxy arranges requests transmitted to each host by accessing the first service and the second service in a mobile device.
