PURPOSE: A smart range and a cooking method thereof are provided to enable a smart range to automatically cook corresponding food by automatically generating new cooking information according to the number of people which a user sets up through basic cooking information which is transmitted from a server. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(120) receives basic cooking information about food from a cooking information supplying server(10) or a portable terminal. An information supplying unit(150) separately classifies specific cooking information of each material according to the number of people. A managing unit(190) generates new cooking information by mixing specific cooking information of selected materials. A cooking controller(130) controls one or more of temperature, weight, heating, and stirring of the selected materials.
