Summary:A path search method using previously searched map data is provided to obtain fast path search result in a distribution model system having a non-powerful CPU. A path search method using a previously searched map data includes the steps of: registering arbitrary positions as points on each section of a map and storing a path between the points in a point search database; inputting path search command(S10); determining how far is a distance between a starting point and a destination(S12); displaying map information by performing general path search algorithm in reference to a map information database if the distance between the starting point and the destination is short(S14); and displaying the map information by performing point path search algorithm in reference to the point search database if the distance between the starting point and the destination is long(S16).
