Abstract PURPOSE: An optical process system is provided to supply a phase-only modulation having greater optical efficiency than full complex modulation since no light is removed by amplitude attenuation. CONSTITUTION: An optical process system(200) includes a coherent light source, a first spatial light modulator(208), a lens system(214) and a second spatial light modulator(218). The coherent light source supplies the coherent light beam along the optical path of the coherent light source. The first spatial light modulator(208) is positioned on the optical path of the coherent light source for modulating the phase of the coherent light in response to the image signal. The lens system(214) receives the modulated light and performs the Fourier transform to the modulated light. And, the second spatial light modulator(218) receives the modulated light and filtering the received light.
