Abstract PURPOSE: A barrier rib structure for plasma display panel and forming method thereof is provided to improve luminescence efficiency, product performance and reliability by forming unevenness on the top of rear substrate divided by barrier rib. CONSTITUTION: A glass paste(53) to be material of barrier rib(55) is sprayed on metal mold that groove is formed with in a stripe shape meeting with shape of barrier rib(55) and then unevenness is formed with at the rest part except lower part of above groove. Address electrode(51) is formed on the result material of above the first process, and substrate sprayed with glass paste(53) on the address electrode(51) is loaded to position address electrode(51) at the prominent surface(57) between groove formed in above metal mold, and then is pressured to adhere above barrier rib material with substrate. The result material of above the second process is added and fired with heat of a designated temperature. Barrier rib(55) is abstracted by dividing substrate from metal mold after executing firing. 본 발명은 플라즈마 디스플레이 패널(이하, PDP라 부름)에 관한 것으로서, 특히 소정의 공간을 사이에 두고 표면 기판 및 배면 기판이 대향되게 위치되고, 상기 배면 기판 중 상기 표면 기판과의 대향면에 복수개의 어드레스 전극이 상호 평행하게 배열 형성되며, 상기 배면 기판에 상기 어드레스 전극을 복수의 방전셀로 분리하도록 복수개의 격벽이 배열 형성된 PDP용 격벽 구조에 있어서, 상기 배면 기판에는 상기 어드레스 전극 위에 형성되도록 격벽 재료인 글래스 페이스트(Glass paste)가 도포되고, 상기 격벽의 측면과 상기 격벽에 의해서 구획된 상기 글래스 페이스트의 상면에는 요철이 형성된 PDP용 격벽 및 그 형성방법을 제공함으로써 상기 격벽의 측면과 상기 격벽에 의해 구획된 배면 기판의 상면으로 이루어진 방전 발광부의 면적이 증대되어 발광효율이 향상되도록 한 것이다.
