Abstract | PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. which gives a fiber or film having excellent strength and can be dyed with cationic dyes having a high degree of polymn., by blending a modified polyester obtd. by copolymerizing a phosphonium sulfonate with a specified coumarin compd. CONSTITUTION:In the esterification reaction of an acid component (a) mainly composed of terephthalic acid with a glycol component (b) composed of at least one glycol such as ethylene glycol, 0.5-10 mol % [based on the amount of the component(a)] of a phosphonium sulfonate (c) of formula I [wherein Z is an arom. or aliph. group; A1 is an ester-forming group; A2 is H or A1; R1, R2, R3 and R4 are each H, a (hydrozy) alkyl or an aryl] is added at any stage before the completion of the reaction and a copolymerization reaction is carried out to obtain a modified polyester (A). The component A is blended with 0.0001-2 wt% coumarin compd. (B) of formula II [wherein Ar is a member selected from an (alkyl- or alkoxy-subtd.) benzene or naphthalene ring, etc.; R5 and R6 are each H, an alkyl or an aryl]. |
