Summary:PURPOSE:To improve the quality of dies and to reduce the production cost by molding a die molding part, as a drag, embedding a consumable pattern into the other to be formed as a cope, and successively pouring the melts of a tool steel and cast iron compsn. into the drag and cope under a reduced pressure suction state. CONSTITUTION:The consumable pattern 1 molded of a foamed styrene is cut near the molding part 2 and the drag 4 is molded in such a manner that the cut surface 3 serves as a parting plane. The consumable pattern of the other part 5 is imposed on the drag 4 and molding sand is packed therein to mold a cope 6. The consumable pattern of the molding part 2 of the drag 4 is then rapped and the cope 6 and the drag 4 are mated. The melt of the tool steel compsn. is poured into the molding part 2 while the pressure in the casting mold is reduced from a reduce pressure suction port 8 and the melt of the spheroidal graphite cast iron is poured into the mold to consume the consumable pattern of the other part 5 after the prescribed time. Since the molding part 2 of the drag 4 is a gap, carbon residues do not remain therein. The die quality is, therefore, improved and the production cost is reduced.
