Abstract | PURPOSE:To disperse roll wear and thermal crowns and to improve a sheet crown and edge drop by applying a sheet crown method or edge drop method to the front stage of a rolling mill train and a cycle shift method to the rear stage. CONSTITUTION:The sheet crown method or edge drop method is applied to the front stage, for example, F1-F3 where the roll wear is small, of the rolling mill train having >=2 units of work roll shift devices. Rolling is executed by controlling the roll shift positions regardless of the width of the materials by every one or plural pieces of the materials in the rear stage, for example, F4-F7, where the roll wear is large. The roll wear and thermal crowns are thereby dispersed and the sheet crown or edge drop is improved. |
