Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent the erroneous detecting of an address and to shorten a whole access time by inverting the bit contents of the prescribed position of the demodulating date of a preformat part, making them into a demodulating address and performing the erroneous detection. CONSTITUTION:A checking code corresponding to the address data of the object position of memory medium 3 is added by an address preparing circuit 1, the bit of the prescribed position of the address data is inverted 2, and the recording data, when the medium 3 is preformated, is written into the corresponding address area. When the data 3 are used, for the data demodulated 5 based on the reproducing waveform from the unrecorded part of the media 3, a bit is inverted 2A at the prescribed position, an error detecting operation 6 to the obtained demodulating address is performed, and when an error is present, the detecting signal of the effect is outputted.
