Summary: | PURPOSE:To improve warming-up properties and combustion efficiency, by a method wherein, in a peripheral flow type cooling system, the set temperature of a rotor housing system connected to each different radiator is set to a value lower than the set temperature of a side housing system. CONSTITUTION:The cooling device of a rotary engine 1 is formed into two systems of a rotor housing system 6 and a side housing system 7 so that rotor housings 2 and side housings 3 are respectively differently cooled. The system 6 and 7 are provided with different radiators 8 and 9, water pumps 10 and 11, and thermostats 12 and 13, respectively. In which case, the set temperature of the first thermostat 12 of the rotor housing 6 is set to a value lower than the set temperature of the second thermostat 13 of the side housing cooling system 7, and this enables to perform cooling in a manner to match their respective demand characteristics. |
