Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of position shift between a track and a light spot due to movement of a head by inhibiting a light head from being moved in the track jump region. CONSTITUTION:When light spots S1, S2 reach a track jump region (b), a photo interruptor 12 is activated, then a head move inhibition signal E rises to turn off an analog switch 15. In setting the width of a light shut plate 11 so that the output of a photo interruptor 13 rises before the output of the photo interruptor 12 descends by the passing of a light shut plate 11, while the light spots S1, S2 are in the track jump region, the head move inhibition signal E is brought into a high level and then the off-state of the analog switch 15 is kept. When the analog switch 15 is turned off, since a head move signal M from a comparator 16 is not inputted to a driver 17, the light head 6 is not moved.
