Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a digital filter device capable of processing a data at a high speed independently of the quantity of data by eliminating the data transfer and obtaining the total sum by the preceding total sum, an input data and the oldest data. CONSTITUTION:A total sum arithmetic unit 10 subtracts the oldest data stored in a memory M in a data memory 2 at an address (n) of an address storage device 7 from the total sum SNO of input data up to the preceding time and adds the this time input I to the result of subtraction to obtain the present total sum SNO. Then a divider 4 obtains a mean value D being the output. Then this time input I in a memory 2 as the newest data in place of the oldest data stored in the memory M of an address (n). The address of the memory 7 storing the oldest data is (n+1) in this processing, and (n+1) is stored in the address (n) as the address of the memory 2 stored with the oldest data. The data transfer is eliminated by the operating processing to reduce the total sum operation.
