Abstract PURPOSE:To efficiently recover high purity fine particles, by a method wherein fine particles of a ceramic stock material are sedimented to a lower liquid sump by spraying a collection liquid without deteriorating said fine particles and sedimented fine particles are withdrawn to be separated and recovered from the collection liquid in a tank. CONSTITUTION:When fine particles (a) of Si3N4 are introduced into a wet electric precipitator 1 from the upper inlet 2 thereof, said fine particles (a) are collected in a cylindrical part 1a by discharge from a discharge wire 4 and further collected and fallen by spraying a collection liquid (b) from a spray 10 to be sedimented to the collection liquid (b) in a lower liquid sump 3. Subsequently, the fine particles (a) sedimented in the lower liquid sump 3 is formed into a slurry by a rotary valve 11 to be withdrawn into a tank 12 and further sedimented therein to be separated from the collection liquid (b) by a screw conveyor 13 and recovered.
