Abstract PURPOSE:To prevent dust from adhering to a nozzle part at non-printing time and prevent bubbles from being generated from the nozzle part, by using a cap roll comprising an elastic material having a specified rubber hardness and compressive set characteristic. CONSTITUTION:At non-printing time, the cap roll 10 is pressed to close a tip opening 19 of a nozzle 6. A roll surface layer 18 is formed of an elastic material having a compressive set of not larger than 12% and a hardness of 30-60 deg., and while maintaining the layer 18 in sufficient contact with the nozzle 6, the layer 18 is caused to eat into the nozzle 6 to close an injection port 19, thereby preventing generation of bubbles from the nozzle part which trouble is liable to occur due to variations in environment.
