Abstract PURPOSE:To enhance the fuel injection characteristic with a simple constitution by changing the axial directional position of a control sleeve for adjusting the injection rate and the angular position of the cam of a force feed pump by means of an actuator in an opposed plunger type fuel injection pump device. CONSTITUTION:A force feed pump 20 is constituted by arranging a ring-form cam 31 around a rotor shaft 3 in which a pair (or two pairs) of opposed plungers 30 are incorporated and making it co-operate with the inner circumferential cam surface 35 via a rotor 33 and a shoe 32. The position of turning angle of the cam 31 is adjusted by means of a cam angular position adjusting mechanism 40 of which driving source is a solenoid actuator via a pin 47. Further, a control device 16 including a control sleeve 15 is provided on the end part 13 of the rotor shaft 3, and it is so arranged that the said sleeve 15 is displaced in the axial direction by the action of a governor 55 comprised of a solenoid actuator 61 via a pin 59 and at the same time the position of turning angle is adjusted by a sleeve angular position adjusting mechanism 70 via a pin 71.
