Abstract PURPOSE:To obtain a highly reliable measured result, by supporting a wt. having a mirror reflecting the light from an incident optical fiber by a box body through a pair of leaf springs and arranging a large number of light receiving optical fiber to the wall part of the box body opposed to the wt. and mirror along the vibration direction of the wt. CONSTITUTION:A box body 3 is horizontally fixed to a car body so that a pair of leaf springs 14 are arranged in the before-and-behind direction of the car body and, when the leaf springs 14 are bent by the inertia of a wt. 13 with the vibration of the car body, the wt. 13 relatively moves to the before-and-behind direction with respect to a protruded wall 16. At this time, the light incident on an incident optical fiber 9 from an electric bulb 8 and reflected from a mirror is successively incident to one of a large number of light receiving optical fibers 20 arranged to the vibration direction of the wt. 13 and this light signal is applied to an electric control apparatus 6 from which the light receiving optical fiber 20 irradiated with the light from the mirror 8 and the timewise change of said fiber are, in turn, outputted to a display part 5. By this method, acceleration is calculated from the timewise change of the light receiving fiber 20 receiving reflected light from the mirror 18 is calculated by the relative movement of the wt. 13 and the protruded wall 16.
