Summary:PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of gas consumption and reduce the size and weight of a device, and reduce the cost by a method wherein the amount of gas flow into a laser tube is set in a specific range. CONSTITUTION:A carbonic acid gas laser device conventionally requires the amount of gas flow in 300-500cc/min. This is because the peak (b) of a curve is applied as a practical range in the graph of the amount of gas flow to output characteristics. The amount of gas flow into the laser tube is set in the range of 3-6cc/min. Thereby, the practical application of a 50W class laser device is contrived by putting the amount of gas flow in the range of 3-6cc/min (at atmosphere) by utilizing the peak (c) rapidly increasing in reverse manner, as shown in the graph (c) at a part on left side from a vertical wave line (a).
