Abstract | PURPOSE:To correct the pin cushion distortion of a raster, by installing each of projecting parts being selected as in the specified size in four corners of the small diametral opening end face on an almost square, cylindrical magnetic shield body coaxially sealed inside the funnel of an envelope. CONSTITUTION:An almost square, cylindrical magnetic shield body 3 to be coaxially sealed inside a shadow mask and a funnel part 4 is supported and secured tight to a frame 2 inside a face panel part 1 of a color picture tube's envelope. In addition, an opening at the electron gun side of the magnetic shield body 3 is formed into a small diameter, and a projecting part 6, which juts out up to an axis orthogonal surface 9 passing an axial top point (b) equivalent to at least 5% to a peak value A of magnetic flux density distribution 8 on the axial top of a deflecting field by means of a deflecting yoke 7, is installed. Therefore, the pin cushion distortion of a raster that is too much for correction with only magnetic field adjustment at the side of the deflecting yoke 7 can be inexpensively removed instead of using a magnet. |
