Summary:PURPOSE:To prevent generation of corrosion between a sleeve having projections on the outside surface and a heat transmitting pipe, by forming the sleeve to the inside diameter thereof smaller than the outside diameter of the heat transmitting side, heating the sleeve to expand and fitting the sleeve onto the heat transmitting pipe via a brazing filler metal then annealing the same. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve 11 is formed to the inside diameter slightly smaller than the outside diameter of a heat transmitting pipe 12 and plural projections 11a projecting radially are formed on the outside surface of the sleeve 11. An annular brazing filler metal layer 13 is formed on the inside surface of the sleeve 11. Such sleeve 11 is heated to the temp. higher than the temp. of the pipe 12 so as to expand and the expanded sleeve is fitted onto the pipe 12. The assembly is then subjected to a heat treatment at the annealing temp. of the material of the pipe 12. When the sleeve 11 shrinks on cooling to the same temp. as the temp. of the pipe 12, the sleeve and the pipe are united in tight contact with each other to one body by which the gap between the sleeve 11 and the pipe 12 is filled. The corrosion between the sleeve 11 and the pipe 12 is therefore prevented.
