Abstract | PURPOSE:To decrease an image pickup device in thickness and to decrease the overall size of an equipment using the image pickup device, by making the reflected light from an original surface made incident to an optical system via a reflecting means, and setting the optical axis of the optical system approximately parallel to the original surface. CONSTITUTION:An image pickup device is stored in prescribed casings PA and PB. A light source 31, a lens array 20 functioning as an optical system for image formation, a long-sized sensor 10 and mirrors 41 and 42 which function as reflecting means of light. An original OR is put on the casing PA and then moved toward an arrow F9. Then the light is irradiated to the picture surface of the original OR from the source 31, and the reflected light from the original surface is made incident to the mirror 41. The light given from the mirror 41 is made incident to the mirror 42 via the array 20. Then the reflecting light from the orignal surface is given to the sensor 10. Thus the image pickup device is reduced in thickness, and the overall size of an equipment using said image pickup device is decreased. |
