Abstract | NEW MATERIAL:The dicarboxylic acid monoester of formula I [R is H or lower alkyl; R and R are H, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy or R and R together form CH=CHCH=CH; R is H or protecting group; R -R are H or alkyl; R and R or R and R may together form CH2, R and R may together form single bond, and R and R may together form CH=CHCH=CH, CH2CH= CHCH2, CH2C(CH3)=CHCH2, CH2CH2CH2CH2, CH2CH(CH3)CH2CH2 or group of formula II-IV; X is halogen; n is 0, 1 or 2]. EXAMPLE:Succinic acid mono[2-(3,4-dihydro-6-hydroxy-2,5,7,8-tetramethyl-2H- benzopyranyl)ethyl] ester. USE:An antioxidation agent having higher activity than vitamin E, or its intermediate. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be prepared by reacting the compound of formula V (R is H or protecting group) with the compound of formula VI. |
