Summary:PURPOSE:To correct easily the spring-back which arises after bending, in the stage of bending a thin metallic plate by means of a bending punch and a bending die, by splitting the bending die and exerting the side pressure sliding in a horizontal direction thereto. CONSTITUTION:When bending of a blank material 1 by a bending punch 2 is started by lowering a punch plate 10, slide cams 9 are lowered simultaneously as well by the guide of a die holder 8. When the tapered end faces 14 of the wedges 13 of the cams 9 contact the side faces 15 of split dies 5, 5' supporting the material 1, a dide pressure is generated in the horizontal direction to close the gap 6 between the dies 5 and 5', and the material 1 is bent by the dies 5, 5' and the punch 2. The side pressure to be exerted on the dies 5, 5' during forming is changed as desired by adjusting the height of the cams 9 by means of screws 12 in this stage, by which the stress applied on the material 1 is changed and the spring-back is corrected.
