Summary:PURPOSE:To obtain a color picture with high quality and resolution, by forming a delay signal from a color TV signal of the NTSC standards, separating a luminance signal and a chroma signal through the use of a comb type filter and converting the signal into line sequential three primary color signals. CONSTITUTION:Signals B-D are formed from an NTSC system color TV signal A from an input terminal 1, by delaying the signal for each one field sequentially through 3-stage of field memories 2-4. The signals A and C are applied to an NTSC system demodulation section 5, the signals B and D are applied to an NTSC system demodulation section 6 to obtain the 2:1 interlace system three- primary-color signals E-G and H-J. The separation of the luminance signal and the chroma signal is done by using a comb type filter at the demodulation sections 5, 6, and that for a dynamic picture is done by using the comb type filter of the frame period. The signals E-G and H-J are applied to a scanning conversion section 7 to obtain three-primary-color signals K-M of the line sequential scanning system, and they are displayed on a color display section 8.
