CONSTITUTION:This binder for molding sand is prepd. by 0.5-10pts.wt. zinc compd. of one kind selected from zinc oxide, zinc hydroxide and zinc acetate to 100pts.wt. crystalline unsatd. polyester resin. This binder improves the collapsing property of the casting mold and core remarkably even if the assistant for collapsion itself generates less gas in the stage of casting in forming the casting mold and core by a shell mold method using said binder. The need for sand burning treatment is thus eliminated.
