Summary:PURPOSE:To make fine adjustment of load possible without any influence upon other eaporators by storing condensed liquid on the heating side of an evaporator, controlling the liquid level thereof and controlling the load. CONSTITUTION:Since the rate of evaporation of an evaporator 1 coincides with the rate of condensation, the rate of evaporation (evaporating capacity) can be set at a prescribed value simply by setting the discharging flow rate of the condensed liquid of a pump 7, that is, by setting the opening of a control valve 9,. On the other hand, if the level of the condensed liquid in the evaporator 1 is changed, the area of heat transfer changes and the rate of evaporation can be changed. For example, in the case of decreasing the evaporating capacity of the evaporator 1, the set value of the flow rate is decreased, and an instruction to increase the water level is emitted from a flow rate control mechanism to a level control mechanism so that the level control mechanism throttles the valve 9 to increase the liquid level, thereby decreasing the area of heat transfer. In the case of increasing the evaporating capacity, the operations reverse from the above-mentioned operations are accomplished. In such a case, the flow rate control mechanism and the level control mechanism are combined in the mechanism 8.
