Abstract PURPOSE:To obtin an ion selective membrane having a uniform and fine network structure, a good preventive effect for elution of plasticizers in the membrane and a long life, by evaporating and drying a solvent contg. a polymer material and an ion selective material under dehumidified evacuation conditions. CONSTITUTION:A soln. wherein a polymer material such as PVC, K<+> ion selective valinomycin in the case of, for example, K<+>, a plasticizer (dioctyl phthalate, etc.) and a conducting agent for reducing membrane resistance (potassium tetraphenylborate, etc.) are dissolved in a solvent such as tetrahydrofuran is prepd. Such soln. is put in a flat petri dish or the like and is evacuated gradually under about 5-70cmHg vacume and below dehumidifying conditions[absolute humidity 0.012(kg-H2O/kg-dry Air)]to evaporate away the solvent. Then the elution of the plasticizer and the ion selective material that arises when moisture enters the membrane is prevented, the membrane is formed into the uniform and fine network structure, and the ion selective membrane which retains the initial sensitivity and response speed for a long period of time is obtained. Particularly the membrane suited for analysis of ion concn. in blood is obtained.
