Abstract | PURPOSE:To achieve tracking with high accuracy and high speed, by forecasting a position of a tracking point for a desired picture, limiting an operating region near the forecast position and setting the size of the operating region proportional to the amplitude of a velocity vector to be forecast. CONSTITUTION:A tracking point memory 13 stores a coordinate signal from a maximum value detecting circuit 12, and also stores a coordinate signal to a picture before one frame, tracking point velocity vectors Vi-1 and Vi-2 and difference vectors Si-1 and Si-1, and the information of storage is given to a vector calculating circuit 14. The circuit 14 calculates Vi and Si and the result is stored in a memory 13. The memory 13 transmits stored information to a tracking point forecasting circuit 15. The circuit 15 seeks the forecast point of the tracking point of a newly inputted picture and also an absolute value delta of a velocity vector G forecasting the postition of the tracking point of the (i+1)th input picture. Thus, the correlation operating region of a correlation operation region limiting circuit 10 is limited and a desired object on a screen is at standstill and tracked. |
