Summary:PURPOSE:To provide the title device which has a simple structure and can make the printer compact and inexpensive by finely sliding a rack body on the shaft of the rack by a position adjusting cam body, and moving the carriage which is connected to a screw body that is engaged with the rack body. CONSTITUTION:The rack body 32 is slidably held on the shaft of the rack 34 and elastically energized by a compressing spring 130 in the direction of a side frame 1A. The position adjusting cam 131 is provided between said frame 1A and the rack body 32. In order to adjust the printing position, the cam body 131 is displaced, the rack body 32 is slidden to a side frame 1B, the screw body 28 which is energized with the cam body 32 is displaced on a carriage moving shaft 27, and the carriage connected to the screw body 28 is displaced on its guide shaft.
