Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the equipment and to reduce the operation cost in an exhaust gas treating equipment for removing dust from a dust-containing exhaust gas, which contains heavy metals such as vanadium and sulfur dioxide gas, successively removing sulfur dioxide in a desulfurization device by a wet lime gypsum method and mixing the removed dust with the desulfurization waste water to separate the heavy metals as a solid matter. SOLUTION: In the exhaust gas treating device, a dust removing reduction column 50 is provided in the pre-stream of the desulfurization device 10, a slurry tank 51, in which the desulfurization waste water is supplied, is formed in the column bottom part of the dust removing reduction column 50, a contact part for collecting the dust and adsorbing sulfur dioxide gas by allowing the slurry in the slurry tank to contact with the exhaust gas before introduced into the desulfurization device is formed in the column top part of the dust removing reduction column 50 and the retention time of the slurry in the slurry tank is setted so as to sufficiently dissolve the heavy metal in the dust collected into the slurry and to reduce by the absorbed sulfurous acid to sufficiently progress the reduction of the heavy metal.
